How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Project Manager (No. 1) £4m Commercial Office Fitout, City of London

Sector: Office Fitout Location: City of London (EC postcodes) Project: £4m commercial CAT B office fitout Contract: Permanent Salary: £90,000 to £110,000 basic + package + bonus Start: Immediate, or by mutual agreement Reports to: Contracts Director / Operations Director

    The project

A £4m CAT B fitout for a corporate end-client in the heart of the City. Scope covers full design coordination, M&E, partitions, ceilings, joinery, decoration, flooring, AV integration, FF&E, and breakout/kitchen areas. The project sits in a multi-tenanted Grade A building, so out-of-hours coordination, building management liaison and tenant impact mitigation are all part of the job. The client expects a premium finish, a tight programme, and zero surprises at handover.

    The role

You will be the No. 1 on this project. Full P&L ownership, full programme ownership, full client face. You will lead a Site Manager (or two), the M&E coordinator, the design team interface, and the supply chain across every package from pre-construction through to PC and aftercare.

    Key responsibilities

    * Own the project end-to-end. Budget, programme, quality, safety, client satisfaction.

    * Lead pre-construction: design development, value engineering, procurement, sub-contractor onboarding, programme build.

    * Manage the Site Manager and site team. Run the weekly site meeting and project review with the client and design team.

    * Manage commercial performance with the QS. Drive monthly valuations, change control, cost reports and final account negotiation.

    * Coordinate with the design team (architect, M&E consultant, IT consultant, AV consultant, structural engineer) and the building landlord and managing agent.

    * Lead the M&E integration. Manage clash detection, BMS commissioning, demised supplies and tenant power coordination.

    * Manage out-of-hours works, building access protocols, hoisting, deliveries and waste removal in a live multi-tenant building.

    * Run a clear stream of progress reporting to the Contracts Director and the client: weekly reports, programme updates, risk register, financial position.

    * Deliver snag-free handover. Lead the soft-landing period and the defects resolution process.

    Essential experience

    * Minimum 7 years as a Project Manager in Commercial Office Fitout, including at least 3 years at No. 1 level.

    * Track record running CAT B projects of £3m+ in the City of London, West End or Canary Wharf.

    * Strong understanding of premium commercial finishes and the operational rhythm of a multi-tenant Grade A building.

    * Comfortable with JCT and D&B contracts and the commercial control that goes with them.

    * Confident leading client meetings, presenting to FDs and operations directors, and managing pushback on cost and programme.

    * Proven team leadership: managing a Site Manager, M&E coordinator and design team interface simultaneously.

    Desirable

Experience with major end-clients in financial services, law or professional services.

Familiarity with sustainability and wellbeing standards (BREEAM, WELL, SKA).

Pre-construction or bidding background — you have priced jobs as well as delivered them.

    Required tickets and qualifications

    CSCS: Black (Manager) card, current

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), current

First Aid at Work (3-day), current
