Location: Dartford
Hours: Monday to Friday, Afternoons (20 hours per week)
Pay: £15+ per hour
Academics are currently recruiting for a School Caretaker to join a welcoming primary school in Dartford. This Caretaker position is a part-time afternoon role, ideal for an experienced Caretaker or someone with previous site, facilities, or maintenance experience looking to work within a school environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Caretaker Role:
Opening, securing, and maintaining the school site
Carrying out general caretaker duties, including basic maintenance and minor repairs
Completing routine health & safety and site inspections
Setting up rooms and school spaces for after-school clubs and activities
Ensuring the school grounds remain clean, safe, and well maintained
Supporting school staff with ad-hoc site-related tasks
Liaising with contractors and visitors when required
The Ideal Caretaker Will Have:
Previous experience as a Caretaker, Site Assistant, Facilities Operative, or in a similar role (preferred)
A practical, reliable, and proactive approach
Good understanding of health & safety procedures
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain oneThis is an excellent opportunity for a Caretaker seeking consistent part-time afternoon hours within a supportive primary school environment
