How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Flexible Supply Work - Secondary Schools - Opportunities for Permanent Roles in September

    Are you a qualified Secondary Teacher looking for flexible work across the Wirral area?

    Academics are currently supporting a number of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across the Wirral who are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Secondary Teachers for short-term and long-term supply opportunities.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a confident Secondary Teacher to gain experience across different school settings, make a strong impression with schools, and potentially secure a permanent teaching position ahead of September recruitment.

    What You'll Do

    * Deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4
    * Adapt confidently to different secondary school environments
    * Maintain strong classroom and behaviour management
    * Support student learning and engagement throughout the school day
    * Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
    * Represent yourself professionally and make a lasting impression in schools

    Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for a Secondary Supply Teacher who:

    * Holds QTS
    * Has recent experience teaching within secondary schools
    * Can confidently manage classrooms independently
    * Is flexible, reliable and adaptable
    * Has excellent communication and organisational skills
    * Is passionate about supporting student progress and achievement
    * Holds an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or is willing to obtain one)
