How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Artist in Residence – Fine Art
Outstanding Secondary School & Sixth Form | East London
    September 2026 Start | Full-Time or Part-Time | 1-Year Fixed Term
    Salary: Circa £35,000 FTE
Vantage Education Partners are working in partnership with an OFSTED Outstanding Secondary School and Sixth Form in East London to recruit an inspiring and academically accomplished Artist in Residence for September 2026.
This is a unique opportunity for a passionate artist and educator to join a thriving Arts faculty with an exceptional reputation for creative excellence. The successful candidate will support highly ambitious Sixth Form students studying Fine Art alongside a range of academic A Levels, helping them to develop their artistic practice through studio work, critique, enrichment and portfolio development.
The school places a strong emphasis on the Arts across the curriculum and offers a wide range of creative qualifications at GCSE, BTEC and A Level. Students benefit from outstanding specialist facilities including professional studio spaces, a dedicated gallery area and opportunities to collaborate with practising artists and creative organisations.
    The Role
    The successful candidate will:
    * Teach Fine Art up to A Level
    * Support and stretch highly able students to achieve top grades and secure places at leading universities
    * Lead enrichment opportunities including exhibitions, gallery visits and workshops
    * Work collaboratively with staff to share creative practice and curriculum innovation
    * Contribute to the continued development of an outstanding Arts provision
A reduced teaching timetable is offered to allow additional time for subject development, mentoring and artistic collaboration.
    The Ideal Candidate
    Applicants will:
    * Hold a degree and strong postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field
    * Have excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Fine Art
    * Be confident teaching or supporting Fine Art up to A Level standard
    * Demonstrate the ability to inspire and motivate young people
    * Be collaborative, reflective and committed to creative education
A formal teaching qualification is not essential; however, experience working with young people and a passion for education are highly desirable.
This opportunity would suit an established artist, practising creative professional or experienced Art educator seeking a rewarding role within a high-performing school environment.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful applicant
