How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Purpose of Role

We are looking for an Electrical Wirer to join a busy workshop-based manufacturing team. This role would suit someone with previous hands-on electrical wiring, assembly, or panel building experience.

Candidates from similar wiring backgrounds, such as refrigeration, HVAC, machinery, control panels, electrical assembly, vehicle electrics, or industrial equipment, may be suitable.

The role will involve wiring, assembling, and testing electrical panels and associated equipment, working from drawings and wiring diagrams to ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and to a high standard.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Carry out electrical wiring and assembly work on low-voltage panels and associated equipment.

    * Build, wire, and test distribution boards, MCCB panel boards, and similar electrical assemblies.

    * Read and work from electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.

    * Select, check, and prepare components and materials required for each job.

    * Cut, crimp, terminate, and connect cables using hand tools and crimping tools.

    * Assemble wiring looms and electrical components.

    * Carry out basic electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, and functional checks.

    * Identify and resolve wiring or assembly issues during the build process.

    * Maintain accurate production and test records.

    * Follow health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.

    * Work independently when required, while also supporting the wider team.

    * Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested.

    Experience and Skills Required

    Essential

    * Previous hands-on electrical wiring or electrical assembly experience.

    * Ability to use hand tools and basic electrical tools.

    * Able to follow drawings, diagrams, instructions, or build sheets.

    * Good attention to detail.

    * Reliable, practical, and willing to learn.

    * Able to work accurately to deadlines.

    Desirable

    * Experience wiring panels, control panels, refrigeration units, HVAC equipment, machinery, vehicles, industrial equipment, or similar.

    * Previous experience in a manufacturing, workshop, or production environment.

    * 18th Edition or other electrical qualifications would be beneficial but are not essential.

    Key Performance Indicators

    * Produce accurate, high-quality wiring and assembly work.

    * Keep rework and errors to a minimum through attention to detail.

    * Meet agreed build schedules and production deadlines.

    * Maintain safe working practices.

    * Work well as part of the wider production team.

    Working Conditions

    * Workshop-based role with potential for occasional site work.

    * Use of hand tools, crimping tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment.

    * Full training can be provided on specific products and standards
