How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Category Manager will be responsible for managing procurement activities within the industrial/manufacturing sector. This role requires expertise in category management (direct procurement) and the ability to develop and implement sourcing strategies in Warrington.

    Develop and implement category strategies for direct procurement in alignment with business objectives.
    Manage supplier relationships to ensure optimal performance and value delivery.
    Conduct market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities and mitigate risks.
    Negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve cost savings and quality improvements.
    Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with operational needs.
    Monitor supplier performance and address any issues in a timely manner.
    Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in all procurement activities.
    Provide regular reports and updates on category performance and cost efficiencies.Profile

    A successful Category Manager should have:

    Proven experience in category management within the industrial/manufacturing sector.
    Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
    A good understanding of procurement processes and sourcing strategies.
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    Proficiency in using procurement tools and systems.
