How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Manufacturing Engineer
    Location: Near Luton
    Salary: Up to £45,000 + Bonus + Benefits

    Are you a Manufacturing Engineer with experience in high-volume production environments?

    This is a brand-new opportunity to join a Global Engineering & Manufacturing Company for their UK HQ near Luton, where you will play a key role in improving production processes, driving efficiency and supporting new product introduction.

    The Manufacturing Engineer Role
    As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead initiatives to improve production performance, reduce waste and enhance quality across a fast-paced manufacturing site.

    You will work closely with cross-functional teams and support both existing production and new product introduction activities, across a range of processes including machining, welding and fabrication.

    Key Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer

    Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies including Kaizen, SMED, Six Sigma and Value Stream Mapping
    Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality and output across machining, welding and fabrication processes
    Drive defect reduction through error-proofing and process control
    Support new product introduction from concept through to production
    Specify and validate equipment, tooling and fixtures
    Deliver cost reduction and value engineering projects
    Prepare and justify CapEx proposals including cost analysis
    Support capital investment projects and site improvements

    Requirements for the Manufacturing Engineer Role

    HND or Degree in Engineering, ideally Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial
    Experience in high-volume manufacturing, ideally automotive or similar
    Knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies
    Experience working with machining, welding, fabrication or assembly processes
    Experience working with automation, tooling or test equipment
    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process data
    Six Sigma Green or Black Belt would be advantageous
    Experience with CapEx or capital investment projects would be beneficial
