How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electronic Repair Engineer | Slough | Competitive Salary

    We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established technology business for a talented Electronic Repair Engineer to join a specialist support team in Slough.

    The Role

    As an Electronic Repair Engineer you'll be the first point of contact for technical support queries on complex electronic equipment and devices. Day-to-day the Electronic Repair Engineer will be fault-finding and repairing returned equipment to component level, handling customer technical queries, and providing out-of-hours helpdesk cover on a rota basis.

    The Electronic Repair Engineer will also be involved in acceptance testing of new and refurbished equipment, implementing hardware and software modifications, and maintaining accurate fault logs to support quality and trend analysis.

    What We're Looking For

    The ideal Electronic Repair Engineer will have:

    * Hands-on experience in fault diagnosis and component-level repair of electronic or electro-mechanical systems

    * Confidence working with customers and communicating technical information clearly

    * Qualifications to ONC level or equivalent (City & Guilds, HNC or degree in an electronics discipline)

    Experience with electronic systems and familiarity with recognised test standards would be advantageous for the Electronic Repair Engineer, but isn't essential.
