How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MEWPS Engineer – Wakefield

    About the RoleRole OverviewIn brief, the position of MEWPS Engineer involves:

    Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
    Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
    Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
    Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.We would welcome applications for this MEWPS Engineer role with the following skills: mobile engineer, engineering, NVQ level 2, plant maintenance, communication, diagnostics, PDI, servicing, LOLER inspections, repairs, and powered access.

    Requirements

    •You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.

    •Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.

    •You will be experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics.

    •You will be working closely with customers and colleagues, so you must be able to communicate professionally.

    •You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing, demanding hire environment.

    •A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required

    •A valid CAP licence would be desirable
