Year 1 Teacher

A primary school in Huyton is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join their Key Stage 1 team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), with a strong commitment from the school to support induction and professional development. The role has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role

• Plan and deliver high-quality teaching and learning in a Year 1 classroom
• Support pupils in their transition from Early Years into Key Stage 1
• Create a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating classroom environment
• Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum in line with Key Stage 1 expectations
• Use ongoing assessment to monitor progress and inform planning

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply, with full support for induction provided
• Has a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
• Demonstrates a nurturing and creative approach to teaching young learners
• Experience of delivering Read Write Inc. is desirable but not essential
• Is committed to supporting children’s academic and personal development

Requirements

• References covering the last 5 years
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Relevant safeguarding training (or willingness to complete this)
