How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Registered Manager or a strong Deputy Manager ready to step into registration within a therapeutic, relationship-led organisation that genuinely prioritises outcomes for young people over occupancy driven practices.

The home supports up to 4 young people aged between 10–18 years with EBD and complex needs within a highly supportive and nurturing environment. All young people are staffed on a 1:1 basis to ensure consistent support, stability and positive outcomes.

The organisation has a strong therapeutic ethos and benefits from Psychologist support available to both young people and the staff team.

    The Role

As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance are consistently maintained.

You will lead and develop the existing staff team while promoting a positive, trauma-informed and relationship-based culture throughout the home.

    Responsibilities

    • Overall operational management of the children’s home
    • Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards
    • Leading, supporting and developing the staff team
    • Safeguarding and care planning responsibilities
    • Promoting positive outcomes for young people
    • Maintaining a therapeutic and nurturing home environment
    • Building positive relationships with families and professionals
    • Driving continuous improvement across the service

    Requirements

    • Experience within residential children’s homes
    • Leadership or management experience within childcare settings
    • Strong safeguarding and Ofsted knowledge
    • Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People
    • Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification preferred or willingness to complete
    • Experience supporting young people with EBD, trauma and complex behaviours

Experienced Deputy Managers ready to progress into their first Registered Manager role are encouraged to apply.

    What’s On Offer

    • Competitive salary with flexibility for the right candidate
    • Discretionary bonus linked to Ofsted outcomes
    • Existing Good rated home
    • Therapeutic and relationship-led culture
    • Strong staffing ratios and support structure
    • Psychologist support available
    • Long-term progression opportunities
    • Supportive senior leadership team

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a smaller provider that genuinely values therapeutic care, positive outcomes and staff wellbeing.
