How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    *** Lead the strategic planning and operational management of school’s business function
     
    The Role:
    Lead the school’s business function, taking responsibility for strategic planning, financial management, operations, administration, compliance, and resource planning. You will work closely with the Headteacher and senior leaders to make sure the school’s systems, staffing, premises, and business processes support high-quality education and long-term success.
     
    The Candidate:
    You are a skilled operational leader with strong financial awareness and the ability to think strategically. You communicate clearly, manage people well, and know how to build efficient systems that support the wider priorities of the school. You are comfortable balancing detail with big-picture planning and can lead with confidence across multiple business areas.
     
    Requirements

    Business Leadership – Proven experience leading finance, operations, administration, or business functions within a school or similar setting.
    Strategic Planning – The ability to lead long-term planning, manage change, and align business functions with whole-school priorities.
    Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication with staff, governors, external partners, and wider stakeholders.
    Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
    Operational Management – Strong experience across areas such as budget management, compliance, HR, premises, procurement, or support services.
