How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a small, supportive secondary SEMH school in the Harrow area. This SEN Teacher role is a rewarding opportunity to work in a setting that caters for pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), and challenging behaviour.

    This is a nurturing and structured school environment that places a strong focus on relationships, emotional wellbeing, and helping students re-engage with learning in a positive and supportive way.

    The Role – SEN Teacher

    As an SEN Teacher you will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored, engaging lessons to small classes of secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs. The SEN Teacher role involves working with students who may present with SEMH, ASD, MLD, and challenging behaviour, ensuring lessons are accessible, structured, and adapted to individual learning styles.

    As an SEN Teacher you will be teaching small classes and will be supported by two Teaching Assistants in each classroom, helping to create a calm, consistent, and well-supported learning environment where pupils can thrive.

    A key part of the role will involve building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, using positive behaviour strategies, and working closely with support staff and wider professionals to support both academic progress and emotional development.

    Key Responsibilities – SEN Teacher

    * Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for small SEN secondary classes

    * Support pupils with SEMH, ASD, MLD, and challenging behaviour

    * Work alongside two Teaching Assistants in each classroom

    * Create a safe, structured, and consistent learning environment

    * Use positive behaviour management strategies to support engagement

    * Track progress and adapt learning to individual needs

    * Work collaboratively with SENCOs, support staff, and external agencies

    The Ideal Candidate – SEN Teacher

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

    * Experience working within SEN, SEMH or alternative provision settings

    * Strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation strategies

    * Ability to remain calm, consistent, and resilient

    * Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to achieve their potential
