How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Rolling Mill Operator Setter
    Wolverhampton
    £12.71 per hour (Trainee Rate)
    Up to £14.00 per hour for Experienced Setters
    Full Time/Temp to Perm

    Our client, a well established manufacturing company based in Wolverhampton, is currently recruiting for a Rolling Mill Operator/Setter to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a long term career within manufacturing, with full training available for the right trainee candidate and higher rates offered for experienced setters.

    Hours of Work:
    Monday to Thursday: 7:00am to 3:30pm
    Friday: 7:00am to 12:00pm
    37 hours per week

    Pay Rates:
    £12.71 per hour for trainee candidates
    Up to £14.00 per hour for experienced Rolling Mill Setters

    Key Responsibilities:

    Setting and operating rolling mill machinery to production specifications
    Monitoring machine performance and product quality
    Carrying out machine adjustments and minor troubleshooting
    Ensuring materials are processed efficiently and safely
    Completing production documentation accurately
    Maintaining a clean and organised working area
    Candidate Requirements:

    Previous experience in a manufacturing or machine operating environment preferred
    Experience as a rolling mill setter/operator advantageous but not essential for trainee applicants
    Strong attention to detail and quality standards
    Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
    Willingness to learn and develop new skills
