How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director level Quantity Surveyor to join a highly respected global consultancy at a pivotal stage of growth across the North West.

Opportunities of this level and impact rarely come to market.

This is a key strategic appointment within a business that continues to expand its infrastructure, energy, utilities, nuclear, and process sector capability across the UK. With a strong pipeline of major projects and long-term client partnerships already secured, the business is seeking an ambitious and commercially driven leader to help shape the next phase of regional growth.

The consultancy is recognised for its collaborative culture, technical excellence, and delivery across some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile infrastructure and industrial programmes. Combining international capability with a people-first approach, they have built a reputation for empowering their teams, developing long-term careers, and delivering outstanding results for clients across highly regulated and technically demanding environments.

Their core sectors include nuclear, utilities, energy, infrastructure, industrial/process, civils, and major capital programmes, supporting clients through the full project lifecycle from strategy and commercial advisory through to delivery and final account resolution.

    The Opportunity

This is a high-impact leadership role based within the North West, offering the opportunity to become a key figure within a growing regional business.

As Director, you will play a leading role in developing client relationships, driving commercial performance, growing teams, and supporting the strategic expansion of the consultancy across infrastructure and energy-related sectors.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders and major clients, leading complex commissions while helping shape the long-term direction of the business. This role requires a commercially astute leader capable of balancing project delivery, business development, team leadership, and strategic growth.

The successful candidate will have the platform to make a genuine impact within a business that is continuing to invest heavily in both people and market growth.

    Key Responsibilities

Lead the successful delivery of major quantity surveying and commercial management commissions

Develop and strengthen relationships with key infrastructure, utilities, nuclear, and energy clients

Drive business development activities and support strategic regional growth

Identify and secure new project opportunities and repeat business

Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to commercial and project teams

Manage commercial performance, fee forecasting, and profitability across commissions

Support annual business planning and growth strategies

Deliver expert commercial advice across complex NEC contract environments

Ensure high standards of governance, risk management, and project delivery

Contribute toward the long-term leadership and growth of the regional business

    About You

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious commercial leader with a strong background in infrastructure, energy, utilities, nuclear, or process sectors.

    You will ideally have:

Significant experience within Quantity Surveying and commercial management

Proven leadership experience at Associate Director or Director level

Strong business development and client relationship management capability

Extensive experience across infrastructure, utilities, energy, nuclear, civils, or process environments

    Excellent understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts

    MRICS qualification preferred

Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking capability

Experience leading and developing teams within consultancy environments

The ability to win work, develop accounts, and support long-term growth

A proactive, collaborative, and ambitious leadership style

    Why Join?

This consultancy offers a unique opportunity to join a business at a key stage of expansion, where senior individuals are empowered to influence growth, strategy, and long-term success.

What sets them apart is their combination of global capability and genuinely people-focused culture. They invest heavily in career development, leadership progression, and creating an environment where individuals are trusted, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

    This opportunity offers:

A pivotal leadership role within a growing North West business

Exposure to major UK infrastructure, energy, and industrial programmes

The opportunity to shape regional growth and strategy

Clear progression toward senior business leadership

    A collaborative and entrepreneurial culture

Long-term career security within a business with substantial growth plans

Strong investment in professional development and leadership capability

This is a career-defining opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveying leader looking to make a significant impact within one of the industry’s most exciting and fast-growing consultancy environments
