How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor

    Near Cambridge (commutable from Cambridge, Bedford, Letchworth, Huntingdon)

    £50,000-£60,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Progression + Benefits

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join an award-winning construction company, offering excellent technical development, clear progression to Managing QS and beyond, along with the chance to work across a diverse range of projects.

    Do you have experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector? Are you looking to join an award-winning and growing construction company?

    The company operates across both the private and public sectors, delivering a range of residential projects alongside commercial developments. Since inception, the company has built a strong reputation for quality delivery, collaborative working, and long-term client relationships with local authorities and housing providers. With an ambitious plan to double their turnover, they are now looking to strengthen their commercial team.

    In this role you will join the commercial department as a Quantity Surveyor. Key responsibilities include cost management, valuations, procurement, subcontractor package negotiation, variations, financial reporting, and building strong client relationships. Candidates can expect to split their time between the office and site visits, which are conducted once every other week as a minimum.

    The ideal candidate will be a Quantity Surveyor with experience within the construction sector, looking to progress. Applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and be located within a commutable distance of the office near Cambridge.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated individual looking to technically develop, progress to Managing QS, and work across a diverse portfolio of projects.
