How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Through our extensive forging capabilities and processes, we offer a fully integrated metals service centre: from ingot/billet and forging through to fully tested and released machined products.
    Job Vacancy
As the Production Operative, you will work within the Closed Die Forge operation across Lasco, Stamps, or Blades Forge departments. You will support the safe and efficient production of aerospace forgings while working closely with Team Leaders, Forge Operatives, and wider production teams to achieve operational and quality targets.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Operate within company Health & Safety procedures and maintain high housekeeping standards.
    * Support forging operations across Lasco, Stamps, or Blades Forge production areas.
    * Assist with the preparation, loading, and movement of materials and tooling.
    * Operate production and forging equipment safely and effectively.
    * Follow documented production processes and quality procedures.
    * Ensure full material traceability throughout all production stages.
    * Support tooling changes and production set-ups.
    * Work closely with forge teams to achieve daily production targets and output requirements.
    * Monitor production operations and report any process, quality, or equipment concerns.
    * Complete production records and documentation accurately.
    * Support continuous improvement initiatives across the forge operation.
    * Participate in shift handovers and communicate operational updates effectively.
    Qualifications and Experience
    * Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, or heavy industrial environment.
    * Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures within production environments.
    * Good communication and team-working skills.
    * Ability to follow documented manufacturing and quality procedures.
    * Flexible approach to rotating shifts and overtime requirements.
    Desirable Experience & Qualifications
    * Previous experience within forging, aerospace, or heavy engineering environments.
    * Overhead Crane Licence or FLT Counterbalance Licence.
    * Experience operating industrial production equipment.
    * Understanding of forging processes and manufacturing operations.
    * Basic computer literacy for production documentation and reporting.
    Salary Information
This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Operative to join a highly respected manufacturing business in Sheffield, offering a competitive salary alongside shift premiums and overtime opportunities.
    Additional Benefits
    * Salary £36,000 - £38,000 located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire
    * Permanent position with long-term career opportunities.
    * Rotating shift pattern covering mornings and afternoons.
