How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are a small London startup with the ambition to change education with ML-powered tutoring. Our flagship product is a mobile application for teaching English to intermediate and advanced learners.

We’re on the verge of solving one of the biggest challenges in education – making high-quality, personalised learning accessible to everyone. What was once technologically impossible is now within our grasp.

We’re looking for a People & Operations Coordinator to support recruitment, HR, office management, and help build a strong team culture. This would be well-suited to someone early in their career, looking to get broad experience in an exciting tech startup!

    What you will do 🚀

    • Recruitment: As we grow, you'll be a key part of building our team - coordinating with recruitment agencies, managing applications and interviews, and sourcing candidates.
    • Events: We run a regular AI & Education tech meetup in London and a fortnightly Conversation Club for English learners. You'll help organise both and ensure they run smoothly.
    • Conferences: We regularly attend conferences worldwide covering AI, education, and software development. You'll help identify the right events, handle the logistics, and attend some of them yourself.
    • Culture & Office Management: You'll keep the office running day-to-day and be the driving force behind our social events and team culture.
    • …and more! This is a generalist role in a small team, so no two weeks will look the same.

    Essential skills 🙏

    • A natural people person - you thrive on building relationships and bringing energy to a team
    • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail
    • Experience in a technical environment - you may have a STEM degree or work experience at a tech company
    • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities at once
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proactive and self-directed - you can spot what needs doing without being asked
    • Comfortable with technology and keen to use AI tools to work smarter

    Desirable Skills 👌

    • HR and/or recruitment experience
    • Experience managing events
    • Understanding of employment law

    What we can offer ✨

    • Flexible hours and hybrid working - 4 days per week from our Central London office
    • A real-deal startup adventure: you'll be hopping on a major project while it's still in the works!
    • Company-provided lunch
    • 25 days annual leave
    • Competitive salary
    • Unlimited learning & development budget - courses, books, conferences etc.
