How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    - Support project costing, planning and feasibility assessments

    - Work closely with customers regarding technical and commercial queries

    - Identify manufacturing risks, opportunities and cost-saving improvements

    - Maintain quotation records and support continuous improvement of estimating processes

    - Support business development and customer relationship activities where required

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    - Previous experience within an Estimator, Costing Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer role

    - Strong understanding of CNC machining and precision engineering processes

    - Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications

    - Aerospace, defence, tooling or subcontract machining experience advantageous

    - Good commercial awareness and attention to detail

    - Strong communication and organisational skills

    - Ability to manage multiple quotations and priorities simultaneously

    - Apprentice-trained or engineering background highly desirable

    DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

    - Multi-axis machining environments

    - Aerospace tooling or precision fixtures

    - Fabrication and assembly costing

    - CAD/CAM exposure

    - ERP/MRP systems

    - Customer-facing engineering support

    WHAT'S ON OFFER

    - £38,000 - £48,000 salary depending on experience

    - Secure long-term opportunity within a highly respected engineering business

    - Modern manufacturing environment with continued investment

    - Opportunity to work on technically complex aerospace and defence projects

    - Supportive and highly skilled engineering team

    - Genuine long-term progression opportunities

    WHY APPLY?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a genuine engineering-led business known for delivering technically challenging projects to some of the world's leading aerospace and defence customers.
