How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Civil CAD Technician – Cambridge

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil CAD Technician to join our client’s growing Cambridge office, supporting the delivery of high-profile projects across the defence, secure infrastructure, and aviation sectors.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to play a key role in the successful delivery of complex civil engineering projects within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for providing professional civil engineering support across a range of projects, from initial concept through to completion. The position requires strong technical capability, coordination skills, and experience working within structured, process-driven environments.

    The successful candidate will be confident in producing high-quality technical packages, coordinating with design teams, and delivering practical, cost-effective engineering solutions that meet client expectations.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Support the commercial and technical delivery of civil engineering projects

    * Coordinate effectively with multi-disciplinary design teams

    * Produce practical and innovative civil engineering design solutions

    * Interpret client requirements in a commercially aware and efficient manner

    * Deliver work to a high standard, within agreed timescales and budgets

    * Maintain strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues

    * Contribute to the promotion and growth of the Practice’s civil engineering services

    * Ensure projects are completed professionally to achieve high levels of client satisfaction

    * Support the achievement of project and business financial targets

    Skills & Experience Required

    * Proven experience across a broad range of civil engineering activities

    * Strong understanding of working within both public and private sector environments

    * Sound knowledge of building construction, Building Regulations, and relevant legislation

    * Proficient in AutoCAD and Civils 3D, including surface modelling and piped network design

    * Experience coordinating and supporting multi-disciplinary project delivery

    * Technician Member of ICE, or currently working towards membership

    Security Clearance

    Due to the nature of the projects involved, candidates must either hold active UK SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain SC Clearance
