How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Bid Writer – Regional Main Contractor
    📍 Maidstone (Projects across the South East)
    💰 Up to £60,000 + Car Allowance + Pension + Healthcare + Bonus

    A well-established regional main contractor based in Maidstone is looking to appoint an experienced Bid Writer to join their growing pre-construction team. The business delivers a diverse portfolio of projects across the South East, specialising in Education, Commercial, and Industrial schemes ranging from £5m to £30m.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable contractor with a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work, offering long-term career stability and progression.

    The Role

    You will play a key role in the preparation and delivery of high-quality tender submissions, working closely with technical, commercial, and operational teams to produce compelling bid documents.

    Responsibilities include:

    * Writing, editing, and coordinating bid submissions and PQQ responses

    * Producing clear, engaging content for quality, methodology, and technical sections

    * Interpreting technical and commercial information into persuasive written responses

    * Managing multiple deadlines across concurrent bids

    * Collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather accurate project information

    * Supporting continuous improvement of bid documentation and processes

    Requirements

    * Proven experience in a bid writing or proposal writing role (ideally within construction or civil engineering)

    * Strong written communication and copywriting skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style

    * Experience producing detailed submissions, including quality and methodology responses

    * Ability to translate complex technical and commercial information into clear, compelling content

    * Excellent organisational and time management skills

    * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint

    * Experience with InDesign is advantageous but not essential
