How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: Production Planner
    Location: Stevenage
    Salary: £30,000 – £35,000

    Overview

    We are looking for a Production Planner to join a busy manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years’ experience in planning or a similar role, looking to develop their skills further within a structured and supportive team.

    You will be responsible for supporting the planning and scheduling of production to ensure materials, resources, and capacity are aligned to meet customer demand and delivery targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    Assist in creating and maintaining production schedules in line with customer demand
    Monitor work orders, capacity, and material availability to ensure smooth workflow
    Liaise with production, procurement, and engineering teams to resolve any scheduling issues
    Track and update order progress, highlighting delays or risks to delivery
    Support with inventory planning and ensure materials are available when required
    Use ERP/MRP systems to manage production data and planning activities
    Help identify opportunities to improve planning processes and efficiency
    Maintain accurate planning records and reports
    Skills & Experience

    1–2 years’ experience in a production planning, scheduling, or coordination role
    Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
    Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
    Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
    Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
    Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
    Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement
    Experience working with multiple product lines or complex schedules
    Understanding of supply chain or inventory planning
