How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A growing construction consultancy based in London is preparing to appoint a Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager due to planned team growth and upcoming workload. This Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager role would suit a bright, commercially minded individual who enjoys both cost management and project delivery, with the ability to work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.

The successful Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager will be joining a well-regarded consultancy environment where teamwork, strong communication, and academic ability are highly valued. The Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager will support a varied portfolio of commercial construction projects, taking responsibility for both quantity surveying and project management duties from early feasibility stages through to completion.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

The Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager's role

The Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager will be involved in pre- and post-contract services, including cost planning, procurement, tender documentation, contract administration, valuations, change control, reporting, and final accounts.

Alongside this, the Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager will assist with project coordination, client updates, programme monitoring, design team meetings, and contractor management. This is a particularly strong opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager who enjoys commercial work and wants to develop within a professional, collaborative consultancy.

The Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager

The Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager will ideally have:

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Project Management, Building Surveying, or a related construction discipline
Prior experience within a construction consultancy or cost/project management consultancy
Commercial project experience, ideally across offices, mixed-use, fit-out, refurbishment, or similar sectors
Strong pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying knowledge
An interest in Project Management responsibilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    A bright, academic, team-focused approach
MRICS, APC progress, or a desire to work towards chartership would be advantageous

    In Return?

    £48,000 - £60,000
    Pension contribution
    Professional development support
APC / chartership support where applicable
    Varied commercial project workload
Long-term progression within a growing consultancy
    Collaborative and supportive team culture
