How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Cover Supervisor - Secondary School

    Location: Carnforth, Lancashire

    Start Date: 1st June

    End Date: Until the end of July (Summer Break)

    Contract: Full-Time (5 Days Per Week)

    Pay: £102.89 - £144.89 per day (Depending on experience)

    Are you looking for consistent, full-time work for the remainder of the academic year?

    Tradewind are seeking a confident, proactive, and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a friendly secondary school in Carnforth. This role is perfect for an experienced classroom assistant, a graduate considering a career in teaching, or a retired professional looking to give back to the local community.

    Starting on 1st June, you will provide vital support across the school during the busy final half-term, ensuring that students remain on task and productive in the absence of their regular teachers.

    The Role

    Classroom Management: Oversee and manage a classroom of students, ensuring a focused and positive learning environment.

    Delivery of Work: Deliver pre-planned lessons left by the class teacher across various subjects (no subject-specific expertise is required).

    Support & Guidance: Assist students with their work, answering questions and providing encouragement.

    Policy Adherence: Follow the school's behaviour policy and ensure students are adhering to high standards of conduct.

    No Planning or Marking: The beauty of this role is that all work is provided for you-no out-of-hours planning is required!

    The Ideal Candidate

    Confidence: The ability to stand at the front of a classroom and lead a group of young people.

    Resilience: A calm and patient approach when managing challenging behaviour.

    Adaptability: Comfortable moving between different subjects throughout the school day.

    Experience: Previous experience working with children or teenagers (coaching, youth work, or school-based roles) is highly desirable.

    Reliability: Committed to the full duration of the contract until the end of July.
