How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are exclusively representing a highly regarded manufacturing business based in Hastings who are looking to recruit a HR Generalist to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established organisation where you can really make an impact and be part of their ongoing success.

    The Role
    Reporting directly to the HR Manager, this is a varied and all-encompassing HR role covering both operational and strategic responsibilities within a busy manufacturing environment:

    Supporting end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes
    Providing employee relations support and advising managers on HR matters
    Maintaining HR compliance, policies and employee records
    Supporting wider HR operations and workforce planning activities
    Assisting with training and development initiatives for managers and staff
    Involvement in continuous improvement and wider business projects
    Supporting the HR Manager with generalist HR duties across the site
    Person specification

    Previous experience in a similar all-rounded HR role
    Ideally experience within SME manufacturing, engineering or production (not essential)
    CIPD Level 3 qualified or working towards (desirable)
    Confident supporting employee relations and day-to-day HR queries
    Strong communication skills with a proactive, hands-on approach
    Forward-thinking and keen to develop within a growing business
    Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with varied workload
