How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Estimator – Wanted – Immediate Start!

    Midlands Based | Salary: DOE
    Permanent, Full-Time

    Are you an experienced Estimator with a background in Main Contracting?

    Regional Recruitment are recruiting for an Estimator to join a professional and growing construction contractor specialising in healthcare, commercial, and education projects across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit and forward-thinking pre-construction team working on a variety of refurbishment and construction schemes ranging from small works through to multi-million-pound projects.

    Qualifications

    Essential:

    3–5 years’ estimating experience within a main contracting environment
    Experience within healthcare, commercial, or education sectors
    Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office
    Strong organisational, negotiation, and time management skills
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Desirable:

    Degree qualified or holds a construction-related qualification
    Good understanding of JCT / NEC forms of contract
    Experience using SMM7 and/or NRM
    Roles & Responsibilities

    Review tender documentation to identify subcontract and material requirements
    Prepare and issue subcontract tender enquiries
    Assess and align subcontractor quotations
    Produce competitive tender submissions using subcontract and first-principles pricing methods
    Identify pricing gaps and compile labour, plant, and material costings
    Produce take-offs for general construction works, including flooring, ceilings, and partitions
    Prepare tender stage programmes
    Price project preliminaries, including welfare, waste management, and site protection requirements
    Identify and compile tender qualifications and exclusions
    Support the wider pre-construction team to ensure deadlines are achieved
    Attend site visits and undertake nationwide tender surveys when required
    Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail throughout the tender process
    Requirements

    Work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
    Demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude
    Be flexible to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays
    Show commitment to professional development and industry knowledge
    Be eligible to work within the UK
    Be willing to complete an enhanced DBS check as part of onboarding
