How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The role involves ensuring parking regulations are enforced fairly, accurately and consistently in line with legislation, guidance and council policy. You will support operational responses to issues such as abandoned vehicles, assist with event planning that impacts parking and highways, and help deliver service improvements and new initiatives alongside the senior management team.

You will also deal with more complex or challenging public interactions, acting as a confident and professional senior presence on‑street.

You will work on a rota basis across a full week (Monday – Sunday).

    About you

We are looking for an experienced enforcement professional who is ready to take on a supervisory role and support the delivery of a high‑quality, customer‑focused parking service. The successful candidate will hold the City & Guilds Level 2 Award for Parking Enforcement (or equivalent) and have a good working knowledge of Traffic Regulation Orders, parking legislation, as well as the principles of good, proportionate and consistent enforcement.

    You should:

    Have strong communication skills
Be calm, fair and professional when dealing with conflict or challenging situations
Be able to lead by example and promote consistent, proportionate enforcement
Have strong organisational skills and good attention to detail, able to maintain accurate and evidential records
Have good general IT skills, including use of handheld enforcement devices and back‑office systems

You will be self-motivated, proactive and capable of making sound operational decisions while supporting officers’ performance, wellbeing and development.
