How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Electronic Design Engineer
    Location: Portsmouth
    Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (Depending on Experience)

    Note: All applicants must be able to work in the UK without the need for VISA Sponsorship now, or in the future.

    Overview:
     
    We are currently seeking an experienced Electronic Design Engineer with at least 3 years of commercial experience and a strong understanding of electronic design and testing within a manufacturing environment. Experience working within a regulated industry would be highly advantageous.

    Our client develops advanced electronic systems deployed across the UK and is continuing to expand its engineering team.

    This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development of next-generation products, while also supporting the enhancement and maintenance of existing systems.

    Key Responsibilities
    Collaborate with Embedded Software and Electronics Engineers to design, develop, modify, and test both new and existing systems
    Design electronic systems and complete products, considering component availability, lifecycle, and long-term reliability
    Develop and integrate hardware and software components to improve current platforms and support new product development
    Conduct fault-finding and failure analysis activities from PCB level through to complete system level
    Use a variety of test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes and digital multimeters, to evaluate PCBs and associated electronics
    Design, develop, review, and test embedded firmware using C
    Design, review, and test electronic hardware, including PCB development
    Support the creation of new hardware and software assemblies to enhance both existing and future systems Required Skills & Experience
    Commercial experience with both analogue and digital electronic design
    Strong component selection, validation, and testing experience
    Understanding of Embedded C development
