How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Portsmouth
    £55,000-£65,000 per annum DOE plus 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension, bonus, life assurance, employee assistance programme, wellbeing support, and flexible benefits including cycle to work scheme
    Please note that the working pattern is 7.30am - 3.30pm
     
    About the Role
    You will lead the Composite department, overseeing all production operations and the entire workforce on the Cosham Site in Portsmouth. Your core focus will be to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of high-quality parts, develop a high-performing team, and drive a culture of continuous improvement to implement the Composite manufacturing strategy.
     
    As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:

    Ensure quality parts are delivered to plan within the Composite department through the correct allocation of resources
    Lead the safe and efficient running of all equipment and personnel across the department
    Be responsible for the Safety and Security of the Cosham Site
    Implement the Composite manufacturing strategy, working closely with the Head of Operations
    Develop a high-performing production team with a culture of quality, delivery, and continuous improvement
    Manage capacity planning and ensure adequate skills and manpower are available for meeting operational targets
     
    About You

    Experience with team leadership and team development
    Experience in departmental management.
