How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

A global leader in high-performance technology is seeking an Electronics Design Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team. This role is pivotal in driving hardware design from initial concept through to successful high-volume manufacturing within a fast-paced, scale-up environment.

    Responsibilities

    * Manage a functional team of engineers, including junior members and senior leads, to deliver robust electronics architecture across the full product lifecycle.

    * Take full accountability for all electronic aspects of the product line, ensuring designs are documented and adhere to strict quality systems.

    * Implement DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFT (Design for Test) processes to ensure a robust supply chain and efficient production.

    * Define technology roadmaps, develop system architectures, and manage departmental budgets to meet evolving market requirements.

    Technical Requirements

    * Proven expertise in complex PCB design, multi-layer boards, and hardware platforms featuring FPGA, DSP, and embedded processors.

    * Deep technical knowledge of both digital and analogue electronics, including real-time control loops and high-voltage drive for specialised devices.

    * Extensive experience managing programmes in an agile environment, from requirements elicitation to validation testing and qualification.

    * Strong understanding of safety and EMC standards to ensure all designs meet relevant environmental and certification requirements.

    Bonus Skills

    * Significant background in the telecommunications sector with a track record of delivering complex products under demanding timescales.

    * Expert-level skills in production support, root cause analysis, and implementing DFA (Design for Assembly) processes.

    * Experience working with external partners on custom IC designs and managing cross-functional teams including optics and software.

    * Ability to embed Systems Engineering practices into the design phase to drive scalable and resilient hardware architecture.

    Benefits

    * £80k-90k salary DOE plus a performance-based bonus of up to 10%.

    * Private Medical Care, a Health Cash Plan with an online GP service, and access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).

    * A market-leading 8% employer pension contribution and life assurance benefits.

    * 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays and an additional "Company Day"), hybrid flexibility, and a Cycle to Work scheme
