How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Digital Trading Merchandiser - eCommerce

    My client, a leading Retail brand in Cheshire is looking for a detail-oriented and organised Digital Trading Merchandiser to join their eCommerce team. This role will focus on improving how products are presented across all websites, supporting product discoverability, and contributing to overall digital trading performance.

    You'll work closely with teams across Digital Trading, Marketing, SEO, Category Management, and Customer Services to ensure products are accurately set up, easy to find, and consistently presented. Also, supporting the Digital Product Content Executive, helping maintain quality and consistency across all product content.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Manage product setup from creation through to launch, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

    Work with Category and Marketing teams on launches, pre-orders, and promotional activity

    Support the optimisation of product content, including titles, descriptions, and SEO elements

    Maintain product attribution data to improve filtering, navigation, and searchability

    Ensure consistent product publishing across all company websites

    Assist Customer Services with product-related queries and corrections

    Support merchandising across product listing pages, navigation, and search results

    Apply sorting rules, rankings, and product placement strategies

    Maintain category structures, filters, and navigation accuracy

    Help improve onsite search through rules, synonyms, and content updates

    Work with SEO teams to optimise category pages and landing content

    Maintain product workflows and ensure clear communication across teams

    Monitor product performance and identify areas for improvement

    Carry out routine checks to ensure products are live, accurate, and visible

    Support weekly reporting on search performance and product activity

    Review site content, navigation, and campaign pages for consistency

    Manage Digital Product Content Executive

    What We're Looking For:

    Must have extensive experience working in a similar digital trading role (ecommerce) preferably within retail/consumer products sector

    Good understanding of SEO and onsite optimisation

    Comfortable working with product data, categorisation, and site navigation

    Strong analytical and data reporting skills

    Familiarity with ecommerce search tools (e.g. Algolia, Commercetools, Amplience)

    Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

    Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams

    A practical, problem-solving approach

    Salary £35k

    Hybrid working - 3 days in office, 2 at home

    Flexible working hours, 37.5 hours Mon-Friday
