How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Quantity Surveyor – M&E

    We’re working with a leading construction contractor with an outstanding industry reputation and a turnover exceeding £100m, looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their fast-paced M&E business unit.

    This is a varied role working across multiple sectors with responsibility for commercial management from pre-construction through to final account.

    Projects & Sectors

    * New build housing estates

    * Schools, colleges, and universities

    * Private sector clients

    Scope of Works

    Projects typically include:

    * Full new build mechanical & electrical packages

    * Solar installations

    * Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)

    * Plant room renewals

    * Additional ASHP and solar upgrades to existing buildings

    Contract values range from £50k to £2.5m.

    The Role

    * Managing project costs and commercial performance

    * Subcontractor procurement and account management

    * Valuations, variations, and final accounts

    * Cost reporting and forecasting

    * Working closely with operational and delivery teams

    * Supporting multiple projects across the region

    Requirements

    * Previous Quantity Surveying experience within construction or M&E/building services

    * Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

    * Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

    * Degree qualified preferred
