How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HR & Payroll Coordinator
    Salary up to £36k
    Strong benefits
Based in the Trafford area of Manchester
    Manufacturing business

A unique opportunity to come into a position and be part of an exciting period of change within the business and the small HR function. The role will be a UK focused payroll and HR coordinator, working closely with the site HR Manager and the regional HR Director. The role will also partner with the France based HR & Payroll Manager, to act as a back-up and support (this part of the role is new and will evolve as the individual gets integrated into the business). Although there are some core role responsibilities to the role, for the right individual there will be scope to grow the role according to interest and capability.

    Some key role responsibilities include:
Fully responsible for managing the UK payroll -
o Process monthly payroll for employees (approx 110)
o Submission of earnings circa £500k per month, using ADP iHCM.
o Processing of pension contributions circa £90K per month.
o Maintain employee benefit records in ADP iHCM.
o Carry out tax year end reporting and maintenance of HMRC Government Gateway for new starters and leavers.
o Work closely with colleagues in the Finance department to ensure that payroll information and data is actioned and submitted accurately and efficiently in accordance with set deadlines.
o Responsibility for the Flexi Time Reporting system ensuring the relevant data is correctly recorded and liaising with colleagues/managers where there may be discrepancies.
Working closely with the UK HR Manager, provide a proactive and customer focused HR output to the business -
o Responsibility for the creation of any HR related letters such as Offer Letters & Contracts, Change to Terms and Conditions, Family Friendly, Flexible Working and any other HR related administration tasks.
o Creation of monthly management and KPI reports
o Providing a responsive and customer focused service to managers and employees that helps drive positive employee and manager engagement
o Contribution to the HR strategic plan, identifying key HR priorities according to business context, and taking personal ownership for selected projects (likely according to personal interest or experience) - for example, to lead the recruitment life cycle, or, lead on training/development initiatives/activities etc
Act as the coordination point for the businesses' 'smaller' non-UK payrolls (single digit employee numbers in Italy, Belgium, Netherlands) - provide timely information to external payroll providers, and, act as liaison between payroll providers and internal finance team
Act as a support to the France site HR & Payroll Manager -
Work alongside the France HR Manager to learn the France payroll/time management system/process (ADP France/Horoquartz; 50 employees) in order that payroll processes can continue in the absence of the HR Manager
Support the France HR Manager on a regular basis on other routine tasks as required - TBD and to be evolved as the individual integrates into the role

    Who we are looking for:
Essential - Solid experience working on UK payroll activities - knows the UK payroll landscape well
Essential - has HR administration/coordination experience, and understands the role of a customer focused HR function
Essential - speaks French to a fluent level (able to work proficiently in French with native French speakers)
Essential - excellent communication skills, able to build strong working relationships with employees of all type and level (from blue collar to senior leaders)
Essential - a proactive and enthusiastic approach to work, showing positive energy to those that they work with
Essential - keen to develop the role and to grow the role, either as part of a personal growth/development plan or as a result of significant experience in similar roles in the past
Essential - excellent IT skills, and sees the value in technology driven processes to aid effectiveness
Desirable - ideally has ADP UK system experience
Desirable - has worked in an industrial/manufacturing/engineering environment
Desirable - CIPD qualifications or working towards

This is a fantastic opportunity that can either act as a platform for personal growth and development of an HR career, or, it can provide a highly satisfying and engaging experience for someone who has had significant prior experience in similar roles. Either way - there is an impactful and exciting role for someone to make their own according to their own drivers and passions, in an environment where HR is modernising and has a direct impact on a business-critical transformation journey.
