How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established and fast-growing company within the construction services and waste management sector is seeking an experienced Head of Sales to lead and develop a high-performing sales team including account managers and business development managers.

    This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for driving revenue growth, shaping sales strategy, and managing both new business and account management functions.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in the next phase of the company’s growth, working closely with senior leadership to deliver commercial success.

    The Role

    The Head of Sales will be responsible for leading, motivating, and developing the sales team while implementing strategic initiatives to maximise performance and revenue growth.

    This role requires a commercially driven individual with strong leadership capability and experience operating within fast-paced B2B environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team

    * Drive new business acquisition while strengthening existing client relationships

    * Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with wider business objectives

    * Set and manage KPIs to ensure consistent team performance

    * Monitor pipeline activity, forecasting, and revenue performance

    * Identify opportunities for growth and market expansion

    * Work collaboratively with senior leadership, operations, and marketing teams

    * Implement performance improvement plans where required

    * Maintain a strong commercial focus across all sales activity

    The Candidate

    The ideal candidate will have:

    * Previous experience managing sales teams within either:

    * Waste Management

    * Plant Hire

    * Builders’ Merchants

    * or related construction sectors

    * Proven success leading and motivating sales teams

    * Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles and contract-based selling

    * A track record of delivering sustainable revenue growth

    * Excellent forecasting and analytical skills

    * A hands-on leadership style with the ability to inspire and challenge teams

    * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
