How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Job Title: Business Development Manager - EdTech / SaaS
    Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + commission

    Location: Remote

    About our client

Our client is a specialist training management platform built for organisations delivering apprenticeships and skills training, including independent training providers, colleges, universities and employers. The platform supports end-to-end delivery across areas including apprenticeships, Skills Bootcamps, Adult Skills Fund provision, apprenticeship units, Foundation Apprenticeships and Study Programmes.

The platform helps providers streamline programme design, enrolment, compliance, learning delivery, evidence capture, funding management, learner progress tracking and business intelligence reporting. Its proposition is built around reducing administration, improving visibility, supporting compliance and giving providers clearer insight into learner and business performance.

    The Opportunity

Our client has already built strong traction across the independent training provider marketplace and is now looking to accelerate new business growth. The business is hiring additional Business Development Managers to open new logos, grow market share and support expansion into FE, HE and wider funded learning markets.

This is a new business role for a credible, consultative SaaS sales professional who understands how to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and can build opportunities from first conversation through to close.

    The Role

The Business Development Manager will focus on identifying, developing and winning new customers across ITPs, FE colleges, HE institutions and other organisations delivering apprenticeships, study programmes, NEET provision and wider skills training.

You will be responsible for building your own pipeline, engaging senior stakeholders, understanding customer challenges and positioning our client’s platform as a solution that can improve efficiency, compliance, learner visibility and business performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Generate and convert new business opportunities across the ITP, FE, HE and wider funded learning marketplace.

    * Open new logos and help our client continue to grow market share.

    * Target organisations delivering apprenticeships, study programmes, NEET provision, Skills Bootcamps, ASF and wider skills programmes.

    * Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through to demo, proposal, negotiation and close.

    * Build relationships with senior and operational stakeholders including CEOs, COOs, MIS/Data leads, Quality Directors, Curriculum teams, Finance and Procurement.

    * Understand customer pain points around learner management, compliance, funding, reporting, delivery quality and operational efficiency.

    * Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline activity, forecasting and next-step discipline.

    * Attend relevant sector events, webinars, exhibitions and networking opportunities.

    Ideal Candidate

    * Proven new business sales experience within EdTech, SaaS, education technology, training technology or a closely related software environment.

    * Experience selling software or technology into organisations with lengthy, complex decision-making processes.

    * Comfortable engaging multiple stakeholders and building consensus across operational, commercial, finance and senior leadership teams.

    * Strong prospecting, discovery, demo and closing skills.

    * Consultative, credible and able to sell value rather than simply features.

    * Knowledge of apprenticeships, training providers, FE, HE, study programmes, NEET provision or funded learning would be highly advantageous.

    * Self-motivated, resilient and commercially focused.

    * Strong CRM discipline and ability to manage a structured pipeline.

    * Comfortable working in a growth environment where new logo acquisition is a priority.

    Package

    * £45,000 - £55,000 basic salary, depending on experience + commission package.

    * Opportunity to join a growing commercial team with clear market opportunity.

    * Chance to help our client expand its presence across ITPs, FE, HE and the wider skills marketplace.
