How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established Mechanical & Electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrician to join its growing engineering team. The business delivers installation, maintenance, and project works across a range of commercial and industrial environments including education, healthcare, retail, public sector, warehousing, and food production facilities.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Electrician looking to work within a professional and expanding M&E business offering a varied workload across electrical, HVAC, and building services projects.

    Electrician Key Responsibilities:
    • Carry out commercial electrical installation works across a variety of sites
    • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks
    • Conduct EICRs, testing, inspection, and associated remedial works
    • Install and maintain lighting systems, emergency lighting, and power distribution systems
    • Support HVAC and mechanical projects with associated electrical works
    • Install containment systems including tray, basket, trunking, and conduit
    • Complete rewiring and project works to a high standard
    • Attend reactive and emergency call-outs when required
    • Ensure all works are completed in line with current regulations and health & safety standards
    • Accurately complete job sheets, certification, and service documentation

    Electrician Requirements:
    • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
    • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
    • ECS/CSCS Card
    • Testing & Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent desirable)
    • Experience within commercial or industrial environments
    • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Full UK Driving Licence
