How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Technical Manager

    £55,000 – £60,000 per annum + Benefits

    Llanelli

    Winberry are recruiting for an experienced Senior Technical Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing business based in Llanelli.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong food manufacturing professional with experience managing customer relationships, driving quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement activities within a fast-paced production environment.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining technical compliance, supporting customer requirements, and ensuring high food safety and quality standards are consistently achieved across the site.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage technical relationships with customers and external stakeholders

    Support customer audits, site visits, and technical reviews

    Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and legal standards

    Work closely with production and operational teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives

    Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions

    Support internal and external audit activities

    Review specifications, technical documentation, and customer requirements

    Assist in maintaining and improving quality management systems

    Requirements

    Previous experience within a technical or quality role in food manufacturing

    Strong understanding of food safety and quality systems

    Experience working directly with customers and audits

    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

    Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities

    Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments

    Desirable Experience

    HACCP qualification

    Experience working with BRCGS standards

    Retailer-facing experience

    Food science or related qualification
