How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our client, a leading manufacturing client based in Newcastle, are looking to recruit a Wiring Harness and Loom Assembly Technician to join the business initially on a 12 month fixed term basis due to business growth.
    The successful candidates will be responsible for production of Wiring Harnesses and Looms to specification following build instructions, wiring schedules and drawings.
    Candidates will ideally be time served in an Electrical discipline with demonstrable experience in reading Electrical Schematics, panel wiring, soldering, crimping and terminating cabling.
    You will also be trained to IPC 620 Standards or equivilant with strong soldering skills for both wiring and PCB Manufacture. Experience using a broad range of connects is also a must.
    Hours
    Monday – Thursday – 6:30am to 3:00pm / Friday – 6:30am – 12:00pm
    Any OT worked over 37.5 hours per week are paid at premium rates to boost earnings
    Key Responsibilities:
    * Manufacture Wires, cables, Harnesses and Wiring Looms using manual tools and automatic machines by following correct build instructions, wiring schedules & drawings
    * Maintain quality standards within the build
    * Support Electrical Technician with Panel wiring of small accurate components under supervision where required.
    * Work to allocated tasks in line with the Production MPS
    * Be involved in and instigate Continuous improvement activities.
    * Manage and complete daily maintenance on wire manufacturing machines
    * Aid Manufacturing Engineering in the creation of wiring schedules from existing product
    Skills & Qualifications:
    * Ideally Time Served in an electrical discipline
    * Trained to IPC 620Standard
    * Strong soldering skills
    * Strong IT Skills and experience in operating machinery in electrical component production
    * Strong technical skills in crimping/ terminating cables.
    * Must be able to read and interpret build instructions, wiring schedules and drawings
