How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Humanities Teacher
    Location: Barnet, EN5
    Contract: Long-term/Permanent
    Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
    Start Date: 1/9/20
    Commutable From: Edgware, Finchley, Enfield, Harrow, Borehamwood

    The Opportunity:
    Long Term Futures are seeking a passionate and adaptable Humanities Teacher to join a specialist SEN provision in the Barnet area.
    The setting supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism (ASD), SEMH, and learning difficulties. This role offers the opportunity to deliver engaging Humanities lessons (e.g. History, Geography, PSHE) within a structured and supportive environment tailored to individual pupil needs.
    This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact through personalised, inclusive teaching.

    Your Key Responsibilities:
    * Plan and deliver differentiated Humanities lessons tailored to SEN learners
    * Teach across subjects such as History, Geography, and PSHE
    * Adapt the curriculum to meet EHCP targets and individual learning needs
    * Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment
    * Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
    * Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCO, and leadership
    * Monitor and track pupil progress, adapting strategies where needed

    Requirements:
    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    * Experience working with SEN pupils, ideally in a specialist setting
    * Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and inclusive practice
    * Ability to teach Humanities subjects across KS3/KS4
    * Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
    * Patient, adaptable, and nurturing approach
