How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Social Worker – Children in Care Team – Kent County Council

    £42 per hour | Kings Hill Office | Hybrid Working | 2–3 Days in the Office

    Hybrid working with only 2–3 office days per week

    Based at the Kings Hill office

    Support children and young people in long-term care arrangements

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Children in Care Team at Kent County Council. This role offers the chance to work with children and young people in care, ensuring they receive consistent support, stability, and positive long-term outcomes.

    You will work closely with children, foster carers, families, and partner agencies to deliver high-quality care planning and safeguarding interventions. This is an ideal opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about relationship-based practice and improving outcomes for looked after children.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage a caseload of children and young people within the Children in Care service

    Undertake statutory visits, assessments, and care planning responsibilities

    Build strong relationships with children, carers, and families

    Ensure care plans are progressed effectively to achieve permanence and stability

    Attend reviews, strategy meetings, and court proceedings where required

    Work alongside foster carers, education providers, health professionals, and partner agencies

    Safeguard children and promote their welfare at all times

    Maintain accurate case recordings and reports in line with statutory guidance

    Candidate Requirements

    Social Work England registration

    Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification

    Significant post-qualified experience within Children’s Services

    Experience working within Children in Care or Looked After Children teams

    Strong safeguarding and care planning knowledge

    Ability to manage complex caseloads effectively

    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
