Hamilton Barber are delighted to be supporting a growing metals and recycling business to recruit a driven and adaptable Trainee Sales & Trading Assistant to join their expanding team.

The company is really forward thinking and looking for attitude and aptitude rather than experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to learn a fast-paced commercial industry from the ground up. Personality, attitude and adaptability are far more important than previous experience.

The business operates within the scrap metal and recycling sector, purchasing non-ferrous materials, processing scrap through large-scale shredding operations, and shipping materials worldwide for reuse and recycling. With operations linked to across the UK and future growth plans already underway, this is an exciting time to join the company, the role will include travel.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on commercial role supporting both purchasing and sales activity across the business. You’ll work closely with experienced traders and mentors who will teach you the industry, helping you develop into a future commercial trader.

No two days will look the same. One minute you could be speaking with suppliers, the next supporting sales activity, organising logistics, or visiting operational sites and docks.

The company is looking for someone who can think on their feet, build relationships quickly and adapt to a constantly changing market.
