How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a qualified nurse who wants to bring your clinical experience into education and help shape the next generation of healthcare professionals? Are you looking for a role where your industry knowledge is not just welcomed but essential, and where you will be building something genuinely new? If so, this is an exceptional opportunity.

    As our new Nursing Lecturer, you will be at the heart of the launch of our Adult Nursing T Level programme, delivering practical and theoretical sessions to 16-18 year old learners in our flagship ward environment within a brand new T Level block at Southgate Campus. You will prepare learners for employment and higher education, supporting them through assessments including exams and the employer set project, and holding course leadership responsibility to ensure the whole team delivers the best possible experience.

    You will work closely with our Industry Placement Team and NHS partners, bringing the reality of clinical practice directly into the classroom and ensuring our provision remains authentically connected to the sector. You will be joining a supportive, innovative and growing team that is building this programme with purpose and collaboration from the ground up.

    What You'll Be Doing

    Here is a flavour of what you will be getting involved in:

    * Inspiring teaching: Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging practical and theoretical sessions on the Adult Nursing T Level and other programmes as required, helping learners prepare for assessments, exams and the employer set project.

    * Course leadership: Lead the team of subject specialists delivering on the T Level, supporting their development of innovative and engaging resources and ensuring the programme is of the highest standard.

    * Industry connection: Draw directly on your clinical nursing background to bring authentic healthcare practice into the classroom, working closely with the Industry Placement Team and NHS partners to keep delivery grounded in sector reality.

    * Learner success: Track and monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records, submit required statistical data promptly and ensure every learner is supported to achieve their potential.

    * Pastoral support: Act as personal tutor to a group of students, attending course tutor meetings and keeping parents and guardians informed about learning, behaviour, safeguarding and other key matters.

    * Curriculum development: Contribute to the development of curriculum materials, liaise with part-time colleagues and attend team meetings to keep the programme current, innovative and effective.

    * Professional development: Engage in CPD, including industrial placement opportunities, to keep your subject specialism current and develop your teaching practice.

    What You'll Bring

    We are looking for a qualified nursing professional with relevant teaching experience and the enthusiasm to launch and lead a new programme.

    Essential

    * A relevant subject degree in Nursing or a Healthcare discipline

    * A PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification

    * Relevant professional experience of working in the nursing or healthcare sector

    * Relevant and successful teaching experience on vocational or academic programmes, particularly in the healthcare sector

    * Experience of and commitment to working with students from a diversity of backgrounds and with a range of abilities

    * A flexible approach to teaching methods with an innovative and enthusiastic attitude to the subjects you teach

    * Proven classroom management and administrative skills

    * Strong written and oral communication skills, including the empathic skills needed to function effectively as a course tutor

    * Ability to work independently and collaboratively, under pressure and to deadlines

    * Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding

    Even Better If You Have...

    * Knowledge of chemistry and/or biology to Level 4

    * Experience of curriculum development
    Recent experience of teaching T Levels and/or BTEC to a range of levels and age groups

    * Ability to make effective and innovative use of technology to enhance teaching and learnin
