How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Residential Youth Support Worker to join a committed team at a children’s residential home in East Sussex.

The home offers high-quality, nurturing care for children and young people aged 7–19 who have experienced significant trauma and are unable to live in foster placements. Some may also have learning disabilities or other complex needs. In this role, you will be key in creating a safe, stable, and supportive environment where young people can recover, build independence, and reach their full potential.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Deliver consistent, high-quality care and emotional support to children and young people

    * Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all residents

    * Support individuals with emotional, behavioural, and psychological challenges

    * Build and maintain positive relationships with young people, families, and professionals

    * Contribute to care plans, risk assessments, and regular reviews

    * Keep accurate records, reports, and documentation

    * Encourage and support the development of life skills and independence

    * Plan and take part in activities and community involvement

    * Safely administer and record medication (following appropriate training)

    * Lead shifts when required and support junior or temporary staff

    * Work flexibly on a rota basis, including sleep-in shifts

    Requirements

    * Experience working with children and young people (e.g. residential care, education, or youth work)

    * NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent (desirable)

    * Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection

    * Ability to support young people with complex emotional, behavioural, and psychological needs

    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    * Confidence in building positive, professional relationships with young people, families, and external agencies

    * Emotional resilience and the ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly

    * Willingness to work within therapeutic and trauma-informed frameworks

We are committed to creating a home where every child feels safe, valued, and supported to thrive. You will be part of a collaborative team working closely with schools, health services, and families to provide holistic, therapeutic care
