How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Educated Appointments are delighted to be supporting an ambitious and growing apprenticeship training provider in recruiting a Business Development Manager to support the next stage of their growth.

    Our client is a quality-focused training provider delivering apprenticeships and commercial training across a range of professional sectors, including continuous improvement, project management, business, marketing, media and creative provision.

    With a strong reputation for high-quality delivery and ambitious plans to grow their employer partnerships, this is an exciting opportunity for a confident and proactive Business Development professional to join a supportive team and make a genuine impact.

    As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for engaging with new and existing employers to identify opportunities for apprenticeship recruitment, commercial training and staff upskilling.

    This is a consultative, relationship-led role where you will take the time to understand employer needs and identify suitable training solutions. Our client is particularly keen to speak with candidates who can help develop opportunities across the creative, media, audio-visual and wider business sectors.

    You will work closely with internal teams, including customer success, tutors, administration and marketing, to ensure employers and learners receive a smooth and professional experience from initial enquiry through to enrolment.

    You will be responsible for:

    * Engaging with new employers through outbound calls, direct communication, networking and relationship building

    * Developing employer partnerships across creative, media, audio-visual, business and professional sectors

    * Identifying opportunities for apprenticeships, commercial training, apprenticeship vacancies and staff upskilling

    * Arranging organisational and training needs analysis meetings with employers

    * Working towards monthly sales and enrolment targets

    * Supporting employers with apprenticeship vacancy promotion

    * Liaising with marketing colleagues to advertise opportunities across relevant channels

    * Working with administration colleagues to support timely learner enrolment

    * Collaborating with tutors to ensure employers and learners understand delivery expectations and commitments

    * Attending events to increase awareness and generate new employer relationships

    * Bringing ideas, market insight and a proactive approach to business development activity

    About You

    Our client is looking for a confident communicator with experience in consultative sales, employer engagement, business development or training-related sales.

    You may already have experience within apprenticeships, education, employability or funded training, or you may come from a wider B2B sales background with a genuine interest in the education and skills sector.

    Experience or contacts within the creative, media, music, audio-visual, production or recording studio sectors would be highly advantageous.

    You will ideally have:

    * Experience in business development, employer engagement, recruitment, training sales or consultative B2B sales

    * The ability to build strong relationships with employers and decision-makers

    * A proactive and self-motivated approach to generating new opportunities

    * Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload

    * Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and online systems

    * An understanding of apprenticeships, levy funding or government-funded training would be beneficial

    * GCSE English and maths at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent

    * A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

    Why Apply?

    This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing training provider at an exciting point in their journey.

    Our client offers a supportive and professional working environment where quality, compliance and learner experience are genuinely valued. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute directly to business growth, develop meaningful employer partnerships and help create opportunities for learners across exciting and evolving sectors.

    You will benefit from:

    * A salary of £35,000 – £40,000

    * OTE up to £45,000

    * A varied and relationship-focused business development role

    * The opportunity to work across creative, media and professional sectors

    * A supportive internal team

    * Scope to bring new ideas and shape employer engagement activity

    * The chance to make a visible impact within a growing organisation

    This role would suit someone who enjoys building relationships, opening doors and working in a sector where commercial success also creates real opportunities for people and businesses
