How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Sue Ross Legal are looking for a Family Law Paralegal ready to step into a fast‑paced Family Law team where no two days look the same. In this role, you’ll be at the heart of case progression — supporting fee‑earners, working directly with clients, and playing a key part in preparing matters for court. If you thrive on responsibility, love staying organised and want to build real expertise in Family Law, this is a standout opportunity to accelerate your legal career.

As a Family Law Paralegal, you will play a key role in progressing client matters efficiently and professionally. You’ll be involved in all aspects of file management, client communication, court documentation and case preparation, ensuring the highest standards of service at every stage.

    Key Responsibilities

    * File administration, including opening files and preparing client care documents

    * Liaising with clients and taking detailed notes during meetings

    * Preparing and updating court bundles and other court documents

    * Drafting initial and interim court applications

    * Preparing position statements, witness statements and legal correspondence

    * Briefing Counsel and instructing experts

    * Preparing legal documents such as Divorce Applications, Financial Statements and D81 Statements

    * Uploading documents and progressing matters via the HMCTS Portal

    * Undertaking legal research

    * Diarising key dates, deadlines and court directions

    * Assisting at court hearings and preparing attendance notes

    * Delivering exceptional client service at all times

    * Taking ownership of client queries and ensuring timely follow‑up

    * Communicating professionally with clients, other parties, courts and institutions

    * Attending training courses to support your professional development

    * Supporting marketing initiatives and occasionally attending networking events

    * Preparing bills using Leap case management software

    * Completing court documents and asset schedules (Word and Excel)

    Who we’re looking for

    * Highly organised with strong attention to detail

    * Confident communicating with clients during sensitive situations

    * Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

    * Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

    * Keen to develop your expertise in Family Law

Unfortunately due to the number of applications we receive, we are unable to provide individual feedback to all applicants. Please assume that if you do not hear from us within 72 hours that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.

May we take this opportunity to thank you for expressing an interest in one of our roles and wish you the very best in your search for employment
