How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Position Senior Bid Manager - Strategic Role on Major Tier 1 Projects, £100m+

    Location Manchester

    Salary £80,000 - £90,000 (OTE £100k+)

    Contract Permanent, Full Time

    Join a leading main contractor delivering some of the North West’s most significant schemes.

    Take full ownership of complex bids and influence the pipeline of £100m+ projects, taking a lead role in securing some of the region’s most high-profile upcoming projects.

    Role Overview

    You’ll be joining a business with a secured pipeline of major projects and a strong track record of winning high-value framework work across the region.

    You will take ownership of the end-to-end bid process on large-scale tenders, working closely with senior stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams to secure strategically important projects.

    The role supports schemes across the North West, with the majority of projects Manchester-based, helping to limit regional travel.

    This role offers direct exposure to senior leadership and a key position in shaping the company’s future workload.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead £100m+ tenders from initial engagement through to submission and client interview

    * Develop clear win strategies, themes, and bid plans

    * Manage multi-disciplinary teams (estimating, planning, commercial, design, ESG)

    * Drive two-stage tendering and framework bids

    * Produce high-quality, compliant submissions aligned to client criteria

    * Manage bid programmes, reviews, and internal governance

    * Support presentations, interviews, and post-tender negotiations

    Requirements

    * Experience as a Senior Bid Manager / Bid Manager within a Tier 1 or main contractor

    * Strong track record delivering bids on large-scale construction projects (£50m–£100m+)

    * Solid understanding of frameworks, two-stage procurement, and public sector tenders

    * Ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex stakeholder environments

    * Strong communication and leadership skills
