How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an experienced Maths Teacher looking to take the next step in your career within SEN education?

    We are currently recruiting for a Head of Maths to join a specialist all-through SEN school in the Horsham area that specialises in supporting pupils with Autism. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated teacher to lead the Maths department across Key Stages 3 and 4 from September.

    Previous leadership experience is not essential, making this a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to progress into their first leadership role within a supportive environment.

    Role Details

    * Position: Head of Maths

    * Location: Horsham Area

    * Setting: SEN All-Through School specialising in Autism

    * Key Stages: KS3 – KS4

    * Start Date: September

    * Salary: £48,000 – £53,000 dependent on experience

    The Role

    * Leading the Maths department across KS3 and KS4

    * Planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons tailored to individual learning needs

    * Supporting pupils with Autism and additional learning needs

    * Developing and adapting the Maths curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement

    * Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and senior leaders

    * Creating a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment

    The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

    * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

    * Experience teaching Maths at secondary level

    * Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

    * A passion for supporting children with additional needs

    * The motivation to develop within a leadership role
