How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    General Manager – Care / Nursing Home

    Diamond Search Recruitment is working on behalf of a well‑established care provider to recruit an experienced General Manager for a high‑quality care / nursing home in Plymouth.
    This is a senior leadership position with full operational, financial and regulatory responsibility, ideal for an accomplished care professional who thrives in a values‑led, performance‑focused environment.
    The Role
    The General Manager will be accountable for the overall success of the care home, ensuring outstanding standards of person‑centred care, strong commercial performance and full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
    You will act as the Registered Manager, provide clear leadership to multidisciplinary teams, and represent the home professionally to families, professionals and the wider community.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Overall operational leadership of the care home
    * Full responsibility for budget management and financial performance
    * Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding and Health & Safety standards
    * Act as the Registered Person in Charge
    * Recruit, lead, motivate and develop a high‑performing team
    * Drive occupancy through proactive marketing and strong local relationships
    * Lead inspections, audits, quality assurance and risk management activity
    * Maintain excellent relationships with residents, relatives and external stakeholders
    * Embed a culture of dignity, compassion and continuous improvement
    About You
    * Proven senior management experience in a care home or elderly care setting
    * Strong working knowledge of CQC standards and UK health & social care legislation
    * Experience managing budgets, staffing and occupancy levels
    * Confident, visible leader with excellent communication skills
    * Calm, organised and resilient under pressure
    * Marketing and stakeholder engagement experience is highly desirable
    Qualifications
    * NVQ Level 4 or above in Health & Social Care (Level 5 desirable / in progress)
    * Enhanced DBS (or willingness to undertake)
