How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role: Planning Engineer / Wrapping, Insulation and Caulkin Planner

    Position: Contract

    Location: Hinkley Point C

    Days on Site: 3

    Duration: Approx until 31st Dec 2026

    Pay: Inside IR 35, Up to 429 PAYE - £468.92 umbrella

    Job Purpose / Overview
    The Wrapping, Insulation and Caulking (WIC) planner is a key role within the Integrated Planning team which encompasses Design, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics and Installation for the WIC Scope of Work for HPC.The Planning Teams work within a matrix organisation supporting all the involved areas, programmes & contracts of Works across Unit 1 & Unit 2 Nuclear Island (NI), Conventional Island & Balance of Plant and the Offshore Marine Scope (CI/BOP) .The WIC Planner is accountable to the MEH Lead Planner for WIC planning throughout the project lifecycle, it's Productivity,the quality of its outputs their accuracy and value, the implementation of the broader HPC Planning Strategy, the provision ofa bespoke-benchmark Planning Environment (Digitally enabled) and the management & control of its associated Supply Chainnterfaces (contracts).
    The Planning team's deliverables will always be delivered whilst eschewing & leading by example in respect of the consistent application of our long-established HPC 'Values' and our continuous endeavour to 'Continuo

    Planner is accountable for Planning and Scheduling associated with Project delivery and the integration of Project
    Progress and Forecasting. They have authority to make decisions relating to the maintenance of the involved data and itsdelivery recognising the overall objectives of the Project and competing goals.
    Principal Accountabilities ...
    * Drive an Integrated Planning framework, integrated with Reporting and Interdependencies focused on alignment of top down/bottom-up reporting from strategic levels, through Level 1 to Level 5 for the WIC scope of works within the nuclearisland and conventional island & balance of plant areas.
    * Develop and maintain the WIC schedule baseline integrated work schedule (IWS) with fully logic-linked work plans aligned to the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and utilising effective techniques.
    * Supporting the Area management organisation to ensure that significant risks/opportunities associated with the WIC
    scope of works are adequately assessed based on evidence and balanced judgement to underpin regular, timely and
    accurate information.
    * Driving and challenging strategies for Baseline Schedule project delivery sequence
    * Continuous development of the Planning team approach by capturing and sharing operational experience and learning.

    Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
    Essential
    * Demonstrable ability to deliver accurate and concise project insights to drive evidence-based decision making, utilising
    commercial and technical information, to influence project decisions and lead the management of area planning.
    * Critical understanding of how the impact of changes/decisions may impact the risk profile of the project and Planning
    delivery.
    * Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    * Effectively communicates complex issues and concepts (unique insights) in simple ways, to both technical and non-
    technical senior audiences.
    * Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues within and across organisational boundaries to achieve mutually
    successful outcomes.
    * Control / Clear Understanding of the HPC PMO Digital Planning Platforms and functionality
    ‒ Detailed understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques.
    ‒ Technical and practical comprehension of EPC methods and techniques in a UK context.
    ‒ Ability to produce accurate, complete and fully logic-linked construction plans.
    ‒ Understanding of other Disciplines of Project Controls (particularly Estimating, Cost and Risk) including management
    techniques and associated software.
    ‒ Understanding of earned value analysis.
    ‒ Understanding of various contract types, in particular the NEC suite and FIDIC.
    ‒ Working knowledge of schedule risk analysis techniques.
    Qualifications & Experience
    Essential
    * Minimum of a degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or other related practical field;
    * Demonstratable experience working within a Planning team for WIC works in a complex, highly regulated industry (ideally
    nuclear or energy) working in a role, which requires active integration management with multiple stakeholders.
    * Experience of practical application of Integrated Planning frameworks and methodologies, and how they are applied in
    the strategic and operational management of a major infrastructure project to deliver positive business outcomes.
    * Expert in Planning and Project Controls technology solutions with experience of managing the implementation and
    effective delivery of complex projects using these software solutions.
    * Proven experience of planning WIC works within highly regulated industries and complex projects.
    Tools and Software
    The jobholder will be expected to have a detailed / deep working level of knowledge of, and to use, the following software
    tools:
    * Primavera P6 (Scheduling).
    * Synchro (4D modelling).
    * Acumen Fuse (Schedule Analysis);
    * Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access);
    * Teamcenter (Document Control).
    * Power BI (Business Intelligence Analytics)
