How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A leading multi-disciplinary Construction Consultancy are now seeking an ambitious Building Surveyor to join their London team. The Building Surveyor will work across a varied portfolio of commercial, education, residential, leisure and healthcare projects. This Building Surveyor opportunity offers exposure to professional services, project work and client management within a collaborative consultancy environment. The Building Surveyor will be based in their London office and will play a key role in delivering surveying services across multiple sectors. This Building Surveyor position is suited to an individual looking to further develop their surveying experience within a growing team.

    The Company?

    The successful Building Surveyor will be joining an established consultancy with a strong presence across the UK property and construction market. The Building Surveyor will work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to a broad range of projects and professional instructions across both public and private sector clients.

    The Role

    As the Building Surveyor you will be responsible for delivering a range of professional and project led surveying services across a varied client portfolio.

    The role will include:

    * Carrying out building and measured surveys
    * Ensuring buildings conform to current building regulations and technical standards
    * Taking particulars on site, writing specifications, obtaining estimates and administering maintenance contracts
    * Analysing and reporting on building defects
    * Handling claims and negotiations with loss adjusters
    * Preparing drawings and specifications for remedial works
    * Preparing schedules of dilapidations
    * Managing refurbishment and maintenance projects across a range of sectors

    The Building Surveyor?

    You will be a committed and commercially aware individual with experience working within a consultancy or property environment. Applications from non-construction related Building Surveyor backgrounds will not be considered.

    The Building Surveyor must have:

    * A degree in Building Surveying or a relevant property related discipline
    * MRICS qualification
    * Experience working in a similar Building Surveyor role
    * Experience carrying out professional and project surveying work
    * Strong communication and client facing skills
    * Ability to manage workload across multiple projects and sectors
